Interactive Augmented Reality app experience.

 
 

To launch their new yoghurt offering in South East Asia, Lion Dairy & Drinks engaged VALIS to create an interactive Augmented Reality app.


The Augmented Reality experience needed to be tied to a physical product and be both an appealing and safe experience for children to enjoy.

VALIS created four Augmented Reality versions of Aussie animal characters and created an experience that allowed children to feed, touch and talk to the adorable animals.

What we accomplished:

  • iOS & Android Augmented Reality app development & build.

  • iOS & Android store release across South East Asia & China.

  • Interactive Augmented Reality experience with talk back and touch interactivity.

  • Conceptualisation, storyboarding, full 3D art direction and creation.

  • Creation of four 3D characters based on illustrations.

  • 3D modelling and animation of characters.

  • Production of unique sound FX for each character.

 

Why AR?

 
  • Visual, interactive storytelling. The brief was a fun experience that would highlight the brand messaging of , “Healthy Australian dairy” - when fed by the user the animals would grow stronger, bigger, exhibit healthy energy and big while smiles!

  • An experience tied to product. The Augmented Reality app was activated by the top of the yoghurt pot, which served as a marker.

  • Unique, immersive experience. Lion was first to market in the SEA region with an Augmented Reality experience such as this project.
